Purdue’s work on the recruiting trail has paid off this month, landing multiple pledges over the last few days to the 2022 class. It continued on Sunday with another offensive line pledge.
The Boilermakers received a verbal commitment from 3-star offensive lineman Vince Carpenter over the weekend, per Rivals.com. His decision came while on an official visit in West Lafayette.
Carpenter is a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive lineman out of Little Silver, New Jersey. He’s ranked as one of the Top 40 players out of the state and received offers from more than a dozen programs. Purdue won the battle over Buffalo, UConn, East Carolina, Houston, Kent State, Kentucky, UMass and Virginia, among others.
With Carpenter’s commitment, Purdue is now up to 11 verbal pledges in the 2022 recruiting class. The Boilermakers rank No. 11 in the B1G and No. 40 nationally, per 247Sports.
It’s been a busy month for Jeff Brohm and his staff, as eight of the 11 players committed have done so in June. Six of those have come within the last week.
