Michigan announced a make-up date for its road game with Washington in the programs’ upcoming home-and-home series.

The Wolverines and Huskers were initially set to play at Washington last season, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19. They will now finish the home-and-home series in 2028, per an announcement.

Michigan will still host Washington in the first game of the home-and-home series later this fall. That game is scheduled for Sept. 11.

Michigan and Washington have met 12 times previously, with the Wolverines holding a 7-5 all-time series lead. The last series came in 2001-02. Washington won 23-18 in Seattle in 2001 while Michigan won the rematch at the Big House 31-29 in 2002.

These two programs also met at the Rose Bowl in 1978, 1981, 1992 and 1993, with each side winning two games.

Michigan’s game vs. Washington in September will be broadcast on ABC in prime time.

The Wolverines open the 2021 season with Western Michigan on Sept. 4 in Ann Arbor.
