A pair of Purdue basketball stars have been named to the FIBA U19 All-Star Team.

Jaden Ivey and Zach Edey were both honored after the conclusion of Sunday’s championship game between USA and France. Both players had outstanding runs during the tournament in Latvia, and Ivey was part of the USA team that defeated France in the title game to claim the FIBA U19 World Championship.

Ivey closed out the event with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in USA’s 83-81 victory over France. In seven games, the rising sophomore from Purdue averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

Edey was one of the top scorers and best rebounder for Canada during the FIBA U19 World Championship. He averaged 15.1 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per contest in seven games.

The full All-Star Team:

  • Jaden Ivey (USA)
  • Zach Edey (Canada)
  • Chet Holmgren (USA)
  • Victory Wembanyama (France)
  • Nikola Jovic (Serbia)

Both Ivey and Edey were members of a Purdue team that finished the 2020-21 season with an 18-10 record, was fourth in the B1G standings and earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Their success during the event should be a great sign for the Boilermakers for the upcoming season.
