Nebraska picked up its first commitment since the start of July, adding a pledge from a defensive lineman out of Florida for the class of 2022.

The player is Hayden Schwartz, a three-star recruit out of Jacksonville, Florida. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 244 lbs., Schwartz has logged over 30 offers from across the country. Some of his Power 5 offers include Michigan, Missouri, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, and Minnesota, among others.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Schwartz is the No. 84 DL and No. 568 prospect overall nationally.

Schwartz becomes the eighth commitment for Nebraska’s 2022 recruiting class and the first true defensive lineman among that group. The Huskers also hold a pledge from three-star edge rusher Jake Appleget.

As things currently stand, Nebraska’s recruiting class ranks 57th nationally and 13th in the B1G. There is definitely some work to be done as we head through the summer.
