Former Penn State star Saquon Barkley to invest all future endorsement money in Bitcoin

Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is taking a leap into the crypto currency space.
Barkley announced on Wednesday that, going forward, all money he makes via endorsements will go to his Bitcoin portfolio.

“You see the KDs, the Lebrons, the Bradys of the world and you want to create generational wealth,” Barkley said. “You can’t do that … especially in the sport I play and the position I play coming off injury.”
As a running back, Barkley’s career is likely to be significantly shorter than any of the players he mentioned above. He’s also coming off a season where he played in just two games because of a torn ACL.
Still, being in New York, Barkley will likely have tremendous endorsement opportunities. One estimate said it could be north of $10 million per year.

As for his on-field salary, Barkley is still on his rookie deal with the New York Giants. He’s expected to clear $38 million by the time his five-year contract is up, per Spotrac.
Barkley has played in 31 career NFL games and has 2,344 rushing yards, 1,219 receiving yards and 23 total touchdowns.
