One of the best prospects for the class of 2022 is off the board, committing to Rutgers over fellow B1G East program Penn State.

The player is Moses Walker, a four-star linebacker out of Brooklyn, New York. Walker is rated by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 16 linebacker and 150th best prospect nationally for the class of 2022. He is also the top player out of New York for the cycle.

After accumulating a host of Power 5 offers from across the country, Walker cut his list of destinations down to Penn State and Rutgers earlier in the week. On Thursday, Walker officially made the call, tabbing the Scarlet Knights over the Nittany Lions.

Grabbing Walker’s commitment is a big win for Greg Schiano and company. As things currently stand, Rutgers is up to 13th nationally with its 2022 recruiting class. Walker is the third top-150 prospect to commit to the Scarlet Knights, joining four-star QB Gavin Wimsatt and four-star OT Jacob Allen.
