If there’s anyone who knows the expectations that are tied to Nebraska football, it’s Eric Crouch. The Heisman Trophy winner understands just how important the program is to the state.
That’s why he’s confident in Trev Alberts as the school’s next athletic director.
Alberts was introduced earlier this week as the next athletic director at Nebraska, replacing Bill Moos who abruptly retired this summer. In a recent interview with Nicole Griffith of 1011 News, Crouch says that he believes Alberts has all the skills to lead the department, not just the football team.
“I think Trev’s gonna be wonderful. He’s got all the right tools, the leadership skills, he knows Nebraska. I’m happy because another football player is at the AD spot,” Crouch said. “More importantly than that, I think Trev’s gonna do a tremendous job and, although it’s a big task and a big job, I have a lot of faith in him.
“Unity comes to mind when I think of Trev and I think he’s gonna be great for the athletic department and the state of Nebraska.”

Crouch was on the hiring committee to bring the next athletic director to Nebraska, so he had an input on who was hired. Clearly, he’s confident with the choice that was made and who is now responsible for leading Husker athletics.
Alberts, who also played football at Nebraska, spent the last 12 years serving as the athletic director at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
