Another 4-star recruit in the 2022 class is heading to Northwestern.

Anto Saka, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive end out of Towson, Maryland, gave his verbal commitment to the Wildcats over the weekend. He is the second 4-star player in the class to pledge to Pat Fitzgerald and Co., making his announcement with a video post on Twitter.

Saka had over 30 offers on the recruiting trail and several major programs expressed interest. He received offers from Penn State, USC, Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others.

Per 247Sports, Saka ranks as the No. 16 edge player in the 2022 cycle. He’s the No. 7 prospect out of Maryland and is listed as No. 330 nationally, earning a 4-star ranking.

Saka has played multiple positions at the high school level, primarily along the defensive line and at linebacker. He also competes in track and field and posts an 11.5-second time in the 100 meters.

Along with Saka, Northwestern also has a 4-star commitment from Naperville, Ill., wide receiver Reggie Fleurima. Northwestern’s recruiting class is up to 15 members and ranks No. 21 nationally and No. 5 in the B1G.
