Ryan Day says Ohio State will play ‘A lot’ of freshmen in 2021

Ohio State has some unfinished business to take care of. Last season, Ohio State lost to Alabama in the national title game.
If Ohio State captures the crown in 2021, a major factor will be the depth of its freshman class. Ohio State has a star-studded cast of newcomers, including J.T. Tuimoloau, Jack Sawyer, Treveon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Kyle McCord.
During Friday’s edition of B1G Media Days, Ohio State coach Ryan Day emphasized that freshmen will play a major role this season.
Ryan Day: “You’re going to see a lot of our guys play as freshmen this year. But that’s because they’ve earned it.”

Day also gave an update on Tuimoloau, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021, who signed with Ohio State earlier this month.
Ryan Day indicated J.T. Tuimoloau might not as play as much as Jack Sawyer initially because Sawyer has been at Ohio State all year: “J.T. just got there, so it’s going to be a little bit of a different lead-in to the season for him, but there’s a long way to January.”

Ohio State begins the season with a road matchup vs. Minnesota on Sept. 2 (8 p.m. EST).
