4 B1G defensive backs named to Jim Thorpe Award Watch List

The Jim Thorpe Award released the names of players who received the honor of being included on the watch list heading into the 2021 season. Four of those players came from the B1G.
The Jim Thorpe Award is presented annually to the best defensive back in the nation. The B1G tied the AAC, ACC, Mountain West and Pac-12 for the second-most selections from a conference. The SEC led the way with seven.
Although the B1G has been home to some really talented defensive backs, the conference hasn’t claimed the award since 2015. Iowa’s Desmond King was the last B1G DB to receive the honor.
Below are the four B1G names on the list:
Sevyn Banks, Ohio State
Jaquan Brisker, Penn State
Brandon Joseph, Northwestern
Tiawan Mullen, Indiana
