3-star defensive lineman Davonte Miles has decommitted from Michigan, he announced on Thursday morning.

Here’s Miles’ announcement:

Miles seemed to indicate that he’s making this decision, at least in-part, because he doesn’t want to enroll early at Michigan next spring. Miles is also a basketball player and has his sight set on winning a state championship in both football and basketball this season.

He had been committed to Michigan since Dec. 18, 2020.

Miles is the No. 127 overall defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds. Miles attends River Rogue High School in River Rogue, Michigan.

This decommitment leaves Michigan with 15 players remaining in its 2022 signing class. The Wolverines’ class is currently ranked No. 13 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Michigan is now down to just one defensive lineman in this class — 4-star Mario Eugenio — but there’s still plenty of time to make additions. Players in the 2022 recruiting class will be able to sign with their chosen programs in December during the Early Signing Period.
