Eight players from the B1G found their names on a 57-man watch list for the 2021 Paul Hornung Award. The list was released on Thursday morning.
Established in 2010, the Paul Hornung Award honors the most versatile player in college football. It was an award that was dominated by the B1G from 2016 through 2018, with three players receiving the honor.
Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers claimed the award in 2016, Penn State’s Saquon Barkley won the honor in 2017 and Purdue’s Rondale Moore received recognition in 2018. Now, eight B1G players hope to join that elite group.
Michigan State was the only B1G school to land multiple players on the watch list. Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers also had a representative.
Here are the eight B1G names to make the cut:
Aron Cruickshank, Rutgers
Jahan Dotson, Penn State
Connor Heyward, Michigan State
Jeshaun Jones, Maryland
DJ Matthews, Indiana
Jayden Reed, Michigan State
Stephon Robinson Jr., Northwestern
Garrett Wilson, Ohio State
