Posting a 6-2 (6-1 B1G) record under fourth-year head coach Tom Allen and first-year co-offensive coordinators Grant Heard and Nick Sheridan in 2020, the Indiana Hoosiers ended a season ranked in the Associated Press Poll for the first time since 1988, checking in at No. 12.
Looking to build on this progress, ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) released their updated win probabilities for each game on the Hoosiers’ 2021 schedule Thursday.
- Sept. 4: at Iowa – 38.9% (L)
- Sept. 11: vs. Idaho – 98.7% (W)
- Sept. 18: vs. Cincinnati – 54.5% (W)
- Sept. 25: at Western Kentucky – 84.1% (W)
- Oct. 2: at Penn State – 28.5% (L)
- Oct. 16: vs. Michigan State – 71.5% (W)
- Oct. 23: vs. Ohio State – 17.3% (L)
- Oct. 30: at Maryland – 62.2% (W)
- Nov. 6: at Michigan – 42.9% (L)
- Nov. 13: vs. Rutgers – 83.5% (W)
- Nov. 20: vs. Minnesota – 72.4% (W)
- Nov. 27: at Purdue – 55.4% (W)
Based on these percentages, the FPI is predicting an 8-4 season for Indiana, which would tie the 2019 team’s win total.
The season-opener at Kinnick Stadium will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
