Former Michigan defensive back dies at 36

There was some sad news for Michigan football Thursday, as former Wolverines defensive back Brandent Englemon passed away. He was 36.
No cause of death was provided at the time of the report.

Englemon played at Michigan from 2005-2007 and quickly became one of the best players in its secondary. In his three seasons he totaled 157 tackles and 3 interceptions. All 3 of his interceptions came during his senior season in 2007.
He also had three sacks for his career and 6.5 tackles for loss. His best overall season came in 2007 when he had 86 total tackles (54 solo) with 1 sack and 2 tackles for loss.
After graduating from the school, Englemon won the Dr. Arthur D. Robinson Scholarship Award which is awarded to the top student-athlete on the football team. He also won the Charles Woodson Award, which goes to best defensive back on the team.
Before coming to Michigan, Englemon was a standout at Holmes high school where he played both football and basketball. He graduated from the school with the record in passing yards (4,039) and rushing yards (1,845).
