Former Ohio State women’s soccer player Nichelle Prince is an Olympic gold medalist.
Prince started for Team Canada in its gold medal match against Sweden on Friday morning. Canada prevailed in penalties.

Prince, 26, has 66 appearances and 12 goals for Team Canada in her career. She’s also a regular for the NWSL’s Houston Dash.
Prince was also on Canada’s 2016 Olympic roster that won the Bronze Medal in Rio de Janeiro.
She is the third Big Ten athlete to win a medal in the last two days.
On Thursday, former Penn State shot putter Joe Kovacs took home the silver medal. Earlier on Friday morning, Minnesota wrestler Gable Steveson won gold with a last-second takedown.
Prince finished her Ohio State career in 2016. She was the 28th overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft.
