2 B1G programs in the running for class of 2022 DB out of Alabama

Two B1G programs are in the running for one defensive prospect via the class of 2022.
The player is Rodney Johnson, a cornerback out of Gadsden, Alabama. Listed at 5-foot-11 and 160 lbs., Johnson is a 3-star recruit.
On Friday, Johnson released a top 7 list that included Indiana and Illinois still in the running. The other programs to make the cut include Liberty, Texas, Tulane, UAB, and Memphis.

According to the industry-generated composite rankings, Johnson is the 44th best player out of Alabama for the cycle and the No. 102 CB nationally. However, Johnson has been adding to his offer sheet over the summer.
Since July 1, Johnson has added Power 5 offers from Arizona State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Texas, and Illinois. He also holds offers from across the country that includes Arkansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Penn State.
