Michigan State’s basketball team has added a major commitment to the 2022 class.

The Spartans received a verbal pledge from 4-star point guard Trejuan Holloman on Saturday. MSU beat out Marquette, Oklahoma State and Minnesota for his commitment.

Holloman, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Saint Paul, received nearly a dozen offers on the recruiting trail. Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin were other B1G squads to extend offers, but none were considered to be legitimate contenders.

Per 247Sports Composite, Holloman ranks as the No. 70 overall player in the 2022 class. He’s the No. 11 point guard and is the best player out of Minnesota. The two-sport athlete has also received collegiate offers as a defensive back.

Holloman is the only player currently committed to Tom Izzo’s 2022 class.

Michigan State finished the 2020-21 season with a 15-13 record and a 9-11 mark in B1G play. The Spartans were defeated in overtime of the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament.
