Ohio State is in preseason camp which means a number of freshmen and transfer players are vying for the right to remove their black stripes!
The practice dates back to Urban Meyer’s time in Columbus and has continued into Ryan Day’s tenure as head coach of the Buckeyes. On Saturday, one talented defensive back and true freshman officially shed his stripe.
The player is Denzel Burke, a 4-star member of the 2021 recruiting class. Burke was the 8th-best athlete prospect in the nation for 2021 and has been practicing in the secondary. Now, he’s the newest member of BIA.
“I just want to thank God, man,” said Burke. “It’s a blessing to be on this team, to compete at the highest level. Shout to zone 6 for getting me better, and shoutout to BIA, y’all know what it is.”
