On the money: Justin Fields drops Mahomes-esque dime with brilliant sidearm throw on the run

Justin Fields might find a way to play himself into a quarterback controversy in Chicago if he keeps making throws like this one.
The Bears jumped up in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft to grab Fields, making him the clear QB of the future in Chicago. However, head coach Matt Nagy has remained consistent in his message that Fields is likely to begin as the backup to veteran Andy Dalton to start the year.
Earlier in the week, Nagy said the next true test for Fields will be the start of preseason games. Chicago starts the preseason Aug. 14 against the Dolphins.
However, Fields continues to do his absolute best to climb the ranks in training camp. Veteran receiver Allen Robinson recently said Fields is able to make all the throws, something Fields put on display once again during Sunday’s action.
While rolling out to his left to avoid the pass rush, Fields dropped down into a more sidearm angle on his throw. He was able to fit the ball through a clean window for a touchdown despite throwing back against his body on the run.

Things will get real interesting in Chicago once we get to the preseason. If Fields performs well against a live defense, it will be hard to keep him out of the starting job for long.
