Of all the teams eager to shake off a rough 2020 season, Wisconsin may be the hungriest of them all.

The Badgers have been one of the most consistent teams in the B1G for some time now, hitting double-digit wins 7 times since 2010. Unfortunately, the shortened 2020 campaign did not go smoothly for head coach Paul Chryst and company.

A season-opening blowout of Illinois was quickly forgotten as a COVID outbreak disrupted Wisconsin’s season. The Badgers would rebound to beat Michigan before a three-game losing streak that included two losses by double digits.

Coming into 2021, expectations should be high once again for Chryst’s Badgers. Despite offseason job rumors, defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard returned to Madison. Wisconsin is also returning some key leaders on both sides of the ball, setting up an intriguing race for the B1G West title.

On Monday, the Badgers hit the practice field as the team starts ramping up to the season opener against Penn State. Though it was just the first practice, the Badgers shared a behind-the-scenes look of Chryst mic’d up for the action.

Needless to say, the mood appeared upbeat and positive as the Badgers get to work. Check it out:

Wisconsin will open the 2021 season in Madison on Sept. 4. Kickoff against the Nittany Lions is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
