Ohio State is in its second week of fall camp, and players are starting to emerge and impress coaches on Ryan Day’s staff.
The Buckeyes OL Coach Greg Studrawa has liked what he’s seen so far from Dawand Jones. Jones has been playing so well that it might be too difficult to keep him off the field.
Greg Studrawa said Dawand Jones is developing to the point where it’s going to be hard to keep him off the field. Said Jones has always had the talent and loved to compete, but needed better attention to detail early in his career, which he has now.

The Buckeyes OL coach has started to tinker with a new-look offensive line that would slide the impressive Thayer Munford 6-foot-6 320-pound tackle over to guard and have Jones 6-foot-8 360-pounds slide into the tackle spot.
Greg Studrawa says Dawand Jones has been a “dominant” pass blocker so far in the preseason: “When he sets in pass pro, believe me there’s nobody going around him, and they’re not going through him.”
He attributed testing out this new offensive line lineup to Jones’ development.

While Greg Studrawa says no final decisions have been made, it sure sounds like Thayer Munford moving to guard and Dawand Jones starting at tackle is happening. He said Munford actually came to him and suggested Jones should start because of how well Jones has been practicing.
