The college football season is around the corner, and stadiums all around the country will hopefully be packed once again this fall.
Minnesota has seen an increased demand for football tickets, with the 2021 season less than a month away.
“Now, with fans set to return this season, the U said Friday their season-ticket total is up nearly 2,000 to 23,636 as of Aug. 1,” According to Andy Greder of twincities.com.
Minnesota is hoping for a sellout crowd when they welcome the National runner-up and B1G champion Ohio State Buckeyes into Huntington Bank Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 2.
One of the reasons that Minnesota has yet to announce the game as being sold out is because of the students, and the other is for the Buckeye fans who will be traveling for the game in early September.
This would be the Gophers’ third straight sellout as they sold out the Penn State and Wisconsin games back in 2019 in their 50,000+ seat stadium.
The Gophers had a disappointing 2020 season as they finished the year 3-4, after having one of the Gophers’ best seasons ever in recent memory in 2019, where they went 11-2. The Gophers only three wins last season came against Illinois, Purdue and Nebraska.
