Michigan State has been one of the surprises of the college football season so far, and not in a good way.

The Spartans are 2-7 overall and 0-6 in Big Ten play coming into today’s game against Rutgers, who sports the same records, respectively. Just looking at recruiting classes, the Spartans have more talent than the Scarlet Knights, however.

Just nine minutes into the game, Michigan State has displayed just that, getting a defensive score on a 30-yard pick-six from Demetrious Cox. Since Cox’s touchdown, the Spartans have scored again, making it 21-0 in the first quarter.
