Dedrick Mills flashed some serious potential in his NFL debut on Friday night.
Detroit played its first game of the NFL preseason on Friday, hosting Buffalo at Ford Field. Late in the 3rd quarter, Mills had the best of his 5 carries for the night, embarrassing Bills defenders on his way to a 20-yard gain.

That play helped get the Lions into field goal range and cut the deficit to just a touchdowns.
Detroit took a lead late in the game at 15-13, but Buffalo responded with a field goal in the 4th quarter to close out a 16-15 victory.
Mills ended the contest with 32 yards on 5 carries. He also had 1 catch but did not pick up any yardage on the reception. Mills was the second-leading rusher for the Lions for the game, behind Craig Reynolds who had 49 yards and a touchdowns on 6 touches.
Mills was undrafted but signed by the Lions. He spent two seasons at Nebraska, rushing for 1,141 yards and 13 touchdowns.
