Shaun Wade is already making a big difference in the NFL.

In his first NFL preseason game with Baltimore on Saturday night, the former Ohio State cornerback hauled in a game-sealing interception to secure a 17-14 victory over New Orleans.

On a 2nd-and-10 play with under 2 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter Ian Book tried to connect with Kawaan Baker but misfired. Wade was in the right place at the right time, making the pick and getting the Ravens off to a 1-0 start.

Wade’s pick was one of 3 collected by former B1G defensive backs in the game. Iowa’s Geno Stone also intercepted 2 passes in the victory for the Ravens.

In addition to the interception, Wade was also credited with a tackle and pass break-up. It was the first career NFL game for the former Buckeye.

Wade was a fifth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was a consensus All-American at Ohio State in 2020 and was named the conference’s Defensive Back of the Year.
