Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek probably thought he was pretty safe standing on the sidelines during the Razorbacks scrimmage over the weekend. That wasn’t the case.
A player was pushed out of bounds during the scrimmage while running at full speed. When his leg kicked up, the bottom of the cleat caught Yurachek right on the nose.
The result was a bloody face for the Arkansas AD. But he appeared to be in good spirits after the injury. Below is the clip, as well as Yurachek’s picture after the incident:
A big thank you to @CoachSamPittman for sharing video from today’s scrimmage to validate I was indeed at the scrimmage and not on a motorcycle. #OneRazorback pic.twitter.com/AN2FF2CeEQ

Prior to this morning’s @RazorbackFB scrimmage @CoachSamPittman talked about toughness. AD leading by example after taking a cleat to the face on the sidelines. #OneRazorback pic.twitter.com/eWKRSrXnuc

Thankfully, it seems that Yurachek is doing fine. It could’ve been even uglier than how it turned out.
Arkansas is preparing to enter its second season under head coach Sam Pittman. Last year, the Hogs finished with a 3-6 record but looked much improved from previous years under Chad Morris.
The Razorbacks opens the 2021 season at home against Rice on Saturday, Sept. 4.
