Selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team, former Ohio State defensive end Chase Young wasted no time making his presence felt in the NFL. He racked up 44 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries – including one returned for a touchdown – en route to Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Already one of the league’s most-feared pass-rushers, Young is hoping to improve on these impressive numbers in Year 2, and Sunday, he wore a microphone to practice, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look.

Based on his performance in the team’s first preseason game, which came on Thursday against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium, Young looks ready for regular-season action. He recorded 2 QB pressures and a hit on Cam Newton in just 7 pass-rush attempts.

During his three seasons in Columbus (2017-19), the Upper Marlboro, Maryland native tallied 98 tackles (40.5 for loss), 30.5 sacks, and 9 forced fumbles, taking home second-team All-B1G recognition in 2018, a first-team spot in 2019, and a spot on the conference’s All-2010s Team.

Young’s alma mater will begin the 2021 season on Thursday, Sept. 2 by traveling to Huntington Bank Stadium to battle Minnesota at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
