Beason missed all of the 2019 season with an injury, he did play in 6 appearances for the Illini last season, and he made two starts while playing DB. He had 7 tackles for the Illini last season.
Beason switched over to the WR position this spring.
The Illini had a dismal campaign in 2020 where they went 2-6 and fired head coach Lovie Smith at the end of the year.
Bret Bielema is in his first year with the Illini. They will take on the Huskers in Champaign in a week 0 game in just 12 days.
