Indiana head coach Tom Allen likely made his players want to run through a wall for him on Tuesday.

He gave an inspiring speech to his team during fall practice and the program recorded it and gave it to Allen, who tweeted it out on his official Twitter account.

In the first part of the speech, he touches a lot on being great and says:

“When you win a battle, you tighten your helmet. You play harder. You’re more locked in, you’re more focused, you don’t let up. Who lets up? Most people. Don’t they? It’s human nature. I get it. But they’re not great either. Because who is greatness reserved for? The few … The few that choose.”

Allen also explains that he’s going to come after every player every day.

“Your effort’s your choice. Your focus is your choice. I ain’t worried about the mistakes. I worry about the focus and the effort. That’s on you, and that’s on me. Every day! Every day! Every day! And I’m going to come after you. I’m gonna try to break you mentally because if I can break you, so can everybody else.”

All of Allen’s players will have their first shot at responding to his speech when the Hoosiers open the 2021 season against Iowa. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 4.
