Former Iowa cornerback Michael Ojemudia had to be carted off the field during Denver’s preseason win over Seattle on Saturday, but the news isn’t as bad as some feared.
According to Broncos insider Mike Klis, Ojemudia’s injury is hamstring-related and should only be out for the next couple weeks.
Per multiple sources, Broncos got good news on CB Michael Ojemudia. Hamstring injury, not knee as initially feared. Out week to week but should be fine. Ojemudia was having nice camp/preseason. #9sports

The former Hawkeye is firmly in Denver’s cornerback rotation after standing out as a rookie last year. He played in all 16 games for the Broncos in 2020 as a rookie, deflecting 6 passes and forcing 4 fumbles.
Ojemudia is still looking for his first career interception, but perhaps that will come this season. He also made 66 total tackles and 1 tackle for loss last season.
Ojemudia was Denver’s third round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Broncos have heavily invested in their secondary in recent years, including the addition of former Alabama DB Patrick Surtain in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Broncos open their season against the New York Giants on Sept. 12.
