A former Alabama quarterback gave some high praise to the B1G on Tuesday.

Wait, what? That can’t be right. Surely a former Crimson Tide gunslinger would have that SEC bias running through his veins, right?

That could be true, but Greg McElroy was on the Paul Finebaum Show on Tuesday prior to the release of the College Football Playoff rankings. Though he only had one B1G team claiming a bid, he did have three teams from the conference in the top six spots.

Ohio State is the lone B1G team in the top four, but McElroy has Michigan and Wisconsin knocking on the door:

It should be noted that Ohio State is ranked No. 2 in his rankings, after Michigan, Clemson and Washington all lost last weekend.

McElroy also offered his explanation as to why he dropped Michigan from his top four rankings:
