After a freshman campaign in 2019 that saw him earn Indiana’s Defensive Newcomer of the Year Award and receive All-B1G Honorable Mention from the coaches and media, cornerback Taiwan Mullen took his game to even greater heights in 2020, taking home a first-team All-Conference nod from the media and first-team All-American honors from the FWAA.
In doing so, he became the first Hoosier cornerback to be recognized as a first-team All-American and just the second player at the position in program history to achieve All-America status.
Additionally, he was the first Indiana cornerback to collect a first-team All-B1G spot since Tracy Porter in 2007.
Set to begin his junior season on September 4 when the No. 17 Hoosiers travel to Iowa City to battle the No. 18 Hawkeyes, Mullen is ready for the challenge of facing the best receivers the conference has to offer.

If you are thinking seeing a Mullen star at cornerback at the collegiate level sounds familiar, you are correct. His brother, Trayvon, played for Dabo Swinney at Clemson from 2016-18 and was a second-round selection by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2019 National Football League Draft.
He is also cousins with former Louisville Cardinal and Baltimore Raven quarterback Lamar Jackson through his mother, Lucretia Peterman’s, side of the family.
Indiana’s date with Iowa kicks at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on BTN.
