The Jacksonville Jaguars have made their decision for its starting quarterback for Week 1.

The Jaguars are going with Clemson product Trevor Lawrence, who they selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Lawrence had a decorated college career.

Lawrence guided Clemson to a national championship in 2018 as the ACC Football Rookie of the Year and followed up his freshman year by returning Clemson to the national title game and earning First-team All-ACC honors in 2019. Lawrence passed for 347 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the national championship game victory vs. Alabama.

Clemson is now going with D.J. Uiagalelei to replace Lawrence. Last season, Uiagalelei amassed 914 yards and nine total touchdowns in his appearances. Clemson kicks off the season on Sept. 4 with a primetime matchup vs. visiting Georgia.

The Jaguars open with a road contest vs. the Texans on Sept. 12.
