Michigan State has created an internal opportunity to benefit its student-athletes with NIL opportunities.
Michigan State announced Friday that student-athletes will be allowed to profit off the university’s trademarks through participation in a Group Licensing Program, created and managed by The Brandr Group.
Michigan State is thrilled to create this opportunity for its student-athletes:
“This is an exciting opportunity for Spartan student-athletes to combine their Name, Image and Likeness with Michigan State trademarks and logos,” Michigan State Executive AD/External Operations Paul Schager said via Michigan State’s website. “NIL continues to evolve, but this is an opportunity for Michigan State Athletics to support its student-athletes as they navigate this new landscape.”
Michigan State is coming off a 2-5 record in Year 1 of the Mel Tucker era. Michigan State previously had three straight winning seasons prior to Tucker’s arrival.
Tucker and Michigan State will look to bounce back this season, beginning with a primetime road matchup at Northwestern on Sept. 3 (9 p.m. EST/ESPN).
