Oregon has named a starting quarterback.

Barring injury, it will be Anthony Brown Jr. starting for the Ducks when they travel to Columbus to face Ohio State on Sept. 11.

Oregon opens its season on Sept. 4 against Fresno State.

Brown is a senior but this is just his second season with Oregon since transferring from Boston College. He played in two games last year, totaling four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing).

Oregon’s leading passer from last season, Tyler Shough, transferred to Texas Tech this offseason.

With Boston College, Brown completed 55.9 percent of his passes for 4,378 yards, 40 touchdowns and 20 interceptions across three seasons. He’s also a threat on the ground, as he has 463 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns in his collegiate career.

Brown beat out three freshmen quarterbacks for the job: Jay Butterfield, Robby Ashford and Ty Thompson. Oregon coach Mario Cristobal did not name a backup on Friday.

Ohio State hosts Oregon on Sept. 11 at 12 p.m. ET.
