Out of the 74 players who can be on the travel roster, few Huskers are notably missing from the squad.

Tight end Travis Vokolek and defensive lineman Casey Rogers did not make the trip to Champaign.

More on Vokolek and Rogers not being available from Evan Bland of the Omaha World-Herald.

“D-lineman Casey Rogers and tight end Travis Vokolek aren’t among NU’s 74-man travel roster,” Bland said. “Chris Hickman likely ascends to the No. 2 spot at tight end in Vokolek’s absence, with Chancellor Brewington also in the mix. Nebraska will likely shuffle through 5-6 defensive linemen on its three-man front, especially with mid-80s temperatures and a heat index of 98 degrees leading up to kickoff.”

Vokolek last season had 9 receptions for 91 yards on 10.1 yards per carry and 0 touchdowns. Rogers last season had 25 tackles with 3 TFLs, 2 pass deflections and 1 sack for the Huskers last year.

Last season when Illinois came into Lincoln, the Illini took it to the Huskers, winning 41-23. Nebraska turned the ball over 5 times that day, helping the Illini to a victory.

The Huskers finished 5th in the B1G West while the Illini finished 7th.
