Official gets leveled by hit from Illinois defender during first half of action

The 2021 college football season is finally here with Nebraska and Illinois taking center stage to start things off!
Now that football season is back, hard hits can be seen with plenty of action kicking off Saturday. Unfortunately, an official took one of those hard hits during the first half in Champaign.
It came on a play where Nebraska had most of the formation moving to the right side of the field but brought one receiver back across the formation. Recognizing the play, an Illinois defender cut toward the free receiver in an attempt to cover him.
The umpire was caught in the crossfire, unable to get out of the way in time. He took the hit and had to be helped off the field after getting leveled.
