In the first weekend of the college football season, there were plenty of highlight plays, awesome moments and unbelievable displays of athleticism. None of it compares to what NC Centeral head coach Trei Oliver accomplished on Saturday.
Not only did he lead NC Central to its first-ever victory over Alcorn State in the SWAC-MEAC Challenge on Saturday night in Atlanta, he avoided a Gatorade bath after securing the 23-14 victory.
Oliver’s athleticism and awareness was on full display while ducking out of the way to avoid the celebratory dousing. It’s the same kind of head-on-a-swivel alertness he’d like all of his players to use on the field:

Incredible.
The next time players from NC Central want to drench their head coach in a Gatorade bath, they’re going to have to be stealthier. Then again, it may not matter. Oliver didn’t appear to dodge the cooler until the liquid escaped the jug.
Oliver’s avoidance of the bath should be on SportsCenter’s Top 10. It may even be the top play.
