Media company secures rights for potential Bishop Sycamore documentary

You’ve seen the memes. Now, you can get ready to see the movie about one of the craziest sports stories in recent memory.
SMAC Entertainment is starting work on a documentary about Bishop Sycamore, the Columbus, Ohio “high school” that made it onto ESPN although it doesn’t have a fixed address and had a football team made up mostly of junior college dropouts.
The company has obtained the rights and access to Bishop Sycamore coach Roy Johnson for the project, which will be produced by NFL Hall-of-Famer Michael Strahan.

Bishop Sycamore lost to prep school powerhouse IMG Academy 58-0 on Aug. 29 in a game that was televised on ESPN — the program’s second game in three days.
The program isn’t recognized by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and Johnson has an outstanding warrant for several charges.
What a time.
