Ohio State is hosting Oregon in one of the biggest matchups of the college football season this weekend.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI), the Buckeyes have an 87.8 percent chance of coming away with the victory on Saturday.
Ohio State stumbled in the first half of its season-opener vs. Minnesota in Week 1, but ultimately bounced back to win that game comfortably. CJ Stroud had an up-and-down first start, but ended up throwing for 294 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Oregon struggled with Fresno State last weekend. The Ducks ended up winning 31-24, but it wasn’t as comfortable as expected.
However, Oregon is expected to get back multiple defensive starters who were suspended in Week 1. There’s also the status of potential No. 1 overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux, who was injured in Oregon’s first game. He’s currently day-to-day, per coach Mario Cristobal.
Ohio State and Oregon have met nine times previously, with the Buckeyes winning all nine matchups. The last meeting came in the 2014 National Championship game.
Kick off is at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
