One of the best defensive players in college football is doubtful to be on the field on Saturday.

Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is reportedly “very doubtful” for the Week 2 contest against Ohio State. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported the news about 90 minutes before the two teams were set to square off.

Matt Prehm of 247Sports also reported that Thibodeaux was spotted in street clothes on the sidelines while most of the team was on the field participating in warmups.

Thibodeaux sustained an injury in Oregon’s opener against Fresno State. In that game, he was credited with 2 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in a 31-24 victory.

His absence is a huge blow to a Ducks defense that is facing an elite offensive line and some of the most talented skill position players in college football.
