TJ Hockenson is on the board in 2021.

Hockenson scored the first touchdown of the Detroit Lions’ season on Sunday afternoon. The score (briefly) tied the game with the San Fransisco 49ers.

Here’s the play:

Hockenson now has 4 catches for 41 yards and that touchdown mid-way through the second quarter.

The former Iowa star is looking to establish himself as one of the NFL’s elite tight ends this season. Last year, he caught 67 passes for 723 yards and 6 touchdowns in what was his second NFL campaign.

Hockenson’s environment changed this offseason, as coach Matt Patricia and quarterback Matthew Stafford were both moved on. But now Hockenson is the undisputed No. 1 receiving threat in Detroit and should get plenty of targets from new quarterback Jared Goff.

Detroit is currently trailing the 49ers 14-10 mid-way through the second quarter.
