Aidan Hutchinson had a magnificent performance for Michigan against Washington on Saturday night and that led to a funny exchange on Twitter after the game.

Former Wolverine star Braylon Edwards congratulated Hutchinson after the win on his Twitter as Hutchinson finished with 2.5 sacks and 4 total tackles and said how happy his father Steve would be with this performance.

Edwards actually got that latter part wrong as Steve Hutchinson isn’t Aidan’s father. In fact, there is zero relation:

Even though Steve Hutchinson isn’t Aidan’s father, his actual dad Chris did indeed go to Michigan. He played as a DL/OLB from 1989-92.

As for Steve, he played at the school from 1996-2000 before playing in the NFL from 2001-12. Steve was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.

Going back to Aidan, he’s off to a great start this season thus far as he has 8 total tackles (7 solo) with 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in Michigan’s 2-0 start.

Michigan’s next contest will be against Northern Illinois on Sept. 18 at Noon ET.
