The Minnesota Golden Gophers are 1-1 to open the 2021 season.
On Saturday, they had a scare as MAC opponent the Miami (OH) Redhawks took the Gophers to the wire.
The Gophers would end up prevailing 31-26. This week the Gophers go on the road for the first time this season. They will head west to the Rockies to face the Colorado Buffaloes.
When head coach P.J. Fleck was asked about the unique challenge of playing in altitude, Fleck had a unique answer.
“The New Orleans Saints got uplifted out of their natural setting, said Fleck, according to Jeff Wald, Digital Sports Reporter for Fox9 covering the Gophers. “Going to Jacksonville, and they just blew out the Packers 38-3. You can’t allow the circumstance to dictate your behavior.”

The Gophers have already dealt with adversity as 2020 B1G Running back of the Year Mohamed Ibrahim was injured in the first game and has been ruled out with a lower leg injury for the year.
RB Trey Potts has stepped in his place and had a nice outing on Saturday. Potts ran 34 times for 178 yards on 5.2 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns.
You can watch the Gophers take on the Buffaloes at 1:00 ET on the Pac-12 Network.
