Maryland WR Dontay Demus Jr.’s impressive stat is now leading the nation

It was a big day for the Maryland offense on Saturday during their 62-0 win over Howard, with Taulia Tagovailoa leading the Terps offense completing 22 of 27 for 274 yards, and three touchdowns.
One of those touchdowns found its way to Dontay Demus, Jr., who pulled in six receptions for 128 yards on the day. The score marked the sixth game in a row that Demus pulled in a touchdown score, and his total on the day made him the first Maryland player with consecutive 100-yard receiving games since Stefon Diggs pulled it off in 2013.

The Terps were fresh off a victory against West Virginia, but the question was whether the Terps would play down to the level of an obviously overmatched foe. The win moved Maryland to 2-0 for the fifth time in six seasons.
Maryland will make the team’s first-ever trip to Champaign later this week to take on Illinois for its Big Ten opener Friday.
