Penn State will be welcoming No. 22 Auburn to Happy Valley on Saturday as it promises to be one of the better matchups of Week 3.
Both teams have won their first 2 games of the season, though Auburn has done so in convincing fashion. The Tigers have beaten both Akron and Alabama State pretty handily as they’ve combined to outscore those teams 122-10.
As for the Nittany Lions, they went to Madison in Week 1 and upset the Badgers and then beat Ball State by 31 last Saturday. Those wins have Penn State up to No. 10 on the AP Poll.
Head coach James Franklin and defensive lineman PJ Mustipher both spoke to the media about the matchup on Wednesday night as Mustipher especially knows how QB Bo Nix could be a bit underrated.
Mustipher on Auburn QB Bo Nix: “Don’t sleep on that quarterback man… He has some tremendous ability and he can do a lot of things.”

Mustipher on playing against an SEC team: “People are gonna say whatever they want about any conference…We just gotta duke it out on Saturday.”

Franklin once again mentions that it will be a struggle to prepare for Auburn in that “they don’t have a ton of legitimate game tape” through two weeks.

Franklin on how the Auburn series came about: “Our administration wanted to play Auburn.”
Sometimes it’s just that simple!
