Nick Gates was entering his fourth season as a member of the New York Giants, but it looks like his season might be done after an injury Thursday night.

The former Nebraska lineman went undrafted in 2018 but was signed by the Giants as a free agent. He did not see action that year but began carving out a role for himself in 2019.

Gates would appear in 16 games during 2019 with 3 starts before starting all 16 games in 2020 at center. On Thursday Night Football, Gates started at left guard but he was carted off the field after an ugly injury to his leg.

It did not take long for NFL insider Ian Rapoport to relay that the Giants have labeled Gates’ injury as a leg fracture. Here’s hoping Gates makes a swift and total recovery moving forward.
