In a game that many thought would have offensive firepower, defenses have come to play between the Illini and the Terrapins.

The score at the half is a whopping 3-3. There was also a blocked kick and a missed FG.

Both QBs have been pedestrian in the 1st half of play. Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailo is 14-20 for 142 yards. On the flip side, Brandon Peters for the Illini is 6-17 for 137 yards.

Rushing has been hard to come by for both teams. Illinois has 40 rushing yards on 21 attempts for 1.9 yards per carry on average. Maryland  has 39 yards on 12 carries for 3.3 yards per carry on average.

The leading rushers for the Terrapins are Peny Boone, and Tayon Fleet-Davis both have 23 rushing yards. For the Illini Chase, Brown has 12 carries for 55 yards and 1 catch for 33 yards.

The Terrapins leading WR, Dontay Demus Jr., has 5 catches for 46 yards. The Fighting Illini leading WR Isaiah Williams has 2 catches for 47 yards.

Hopefully, the offenses wake up in the 2nd half of play between the Terrapins and the Illini.
