Kirk Herbstreit says Penn State has college football’s best atmosphere

The national spotlight will be squarely on Happy Valley when No. 10 Penn State hosts No. 22 Auburn in a clash of ranked teams.
This will be the annual White Out game for Penn State. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth for ABC and he’s already doubled down that Penn State’s White Out is the best atmosphere in college football. Herbstreit reiterated that stance on College GameDay.
“You said ‘one’ of the best atmospheres in college football,” Herbstreit said. “This is the best atmosphere in college football. It is, man. It is.”
Lee Corso agrees that the Penn State White Out game offers the most electric atmosphere.
“I can’t think of a better place to watch football than right here,” Corso said. “Especially at the White Out for Penn State. It’s fantastic, it’s magnificent … This is it, right here.”
The all-time series between Penn State and Auburn is tied at 1. The last meeting was a 13-9 Auburn victory in 2003 at the Capital One Bowl.
Penn State-Auburn is slated for Sept. 18 (7:30 p.m. EST) and will be televised on ABC.
