Tulsa was a team that would not be put away as they made life difficult for the No. 9 Ohio State Buckeyes. Tulsa cut the Buckeyes’ lead to 20-13, but the Buckeyes scored a touchdown with one second left in the third quarter. Finally, in the fourth quarter, Ohio State outscored Tulsa 14-7.
As Tulsa looking for one more potential score late in the game, Tulsa quarterback Davis Brin was picked off by Ohio State redshirt safety Cameron Martinez for a 61-yard touchdown. That touchdown by Ohio State’s defense gave them the 41-20 lead with 1:50 left in the game.

Ohio State outgained Tulsa in total yards accounted for 501-to-487 as each offense turned the ball over two times. The defense for the Buckeyes held Tulsa to only 59 rushing yards averaging 2.1 yards per rush.
The Buckeyes will take on Akron in their nonconference finale next week.
